The Hirzel is situated on an elevated position bethween Lake Zurich and Lake Zug. In addition to an especially societyorientated community, the Hirzel offers a dreamlike landscape. Characterized by numerous moraine hills, which are primarily topped with linden trees, the landscape itself is a piece of history. The trees were planted by locals at special moments, such as the birth of a first son, at the highest point of their own land. From the dozens of hills one can enjoy a magnificent panorama of the Swiss Alps. With 2,100 inhabitants, the Hirzel is one of the smaller towns and is characterized by a remarkable sense of community. You can know the neighbors and enjoy the social life in the clubs on different occasions. The School Schützenmatt is the community center where most of the celebrations and performances take place and it
contributes to the feeling of community. In Hirzel you can find shops for your everyday needs. More shopping is available in Horgen and Wädenswil which are approximately 10 to 15 minutes away with private transport and offer different retailers and DIY stores. In addition, Zug is less than 15 minutes away and Zurich is only 20 minutes away by car which also makes the Hirzel attractive as a residential community.
